- Preheat oven to

- Grease cookie sheets lightly with unsalted shortening.

- Sift together flour and salt.

- Work butter in a bowl until creamy.

- Add sugar and beat until well blended.

- Gradually add sifted dry ingredients, beating well after each addition.
